Male or Female National Pipe Thread. If your house has 3/4-inch pipes, you need two male adapters to screw onto the connections. If your house has 1-inch pipes, you'll need two female adapters to screw onto the connections.

All of the spin down filter cartridges use the same housing, so the cartridges themselves are completely interchangeable if you need to swap to a different size

Could I connect this spin down water filter permanently to a drain so that I don't have to regularly flush it?

No, if you open the bottom valve permanently, the unit loses pressure and all of the water goes to the drain.

Can this WSP sediment water filter be installed and used outdoors?

You can install it outdoors but make sure it is NOT exposed to direct sunlight or freezing temperatures.
