The Quest for Pure Water

Key Points:

  1. Although distilled water is the purest form of water, there is debate as to whether its the best option for consumption.
  2. As an alternative, reverse osmosis (RO) systems provide high-quality purified water.
  3. RO systems offered by iSpring that will provide you with contaminant-free, pure drinking water.

Distilled Water: Water at Its Pures

There are many options when it comes to ensuring you’re enjoying pure, contaminant-free water, and because of the high level of purity, many turn to distilled water. In the realm of water purification methods, Distilled Water emerges as a character defined by its meticulous process. Its journey begins with the heating of water to generate steam, a transformative phase where impurities are left behind. Through condensation, this steam returns to its liquid state, resulting in a purified form of water. However, despite its effectiveness in removing impurities, Distilled Water proves to be an impractical choice for home drinking water. This is due to the energy-intensive nature of its process, demanding significant resources for heating water and producing steam. In comparison to other purification methods, such as filtration or reverse osmosis, its energy requirements render it less feasible for everyday household use, thus relegating it to specialized applications where purity is paramount. Although this may not be the best option for drinking water, it is an ideal option for use in laboratory experiments and medical procedures.

Also, its lack of minerals like calcium, magnesium, and sodium impacts taste preferences, with some finding its flavor clean and refreshing while others perceive it as flat. For those relying on water minerals for daily intake goals, supplementing with nutrient-rich foods becomes essential to compensate for the absence in drinking water.

Reverse Osmosis: A Better Alternative in Purified Water

Another option that can provide you with superior drinking water is a reverse osmosis (RO) filtration system. RO systems are often paired with a carbon block filter for the final stage as well as an alkaline filter which can improve the taste of water and restore healthy minerals in your water while improving the taste.

Another consideration is the process of reverse osmosis is much more energy-efficient and can be done with a rather small filtration system, making it a much more ideal option if you’re seeking an in-home filtration system. Instead of converting steam back to liquid form, this purification method relies on water pushing its way through a semi-permeable membrane to remove impurities and contaminants.

iSpring’s Range of Reverse Osmosis Systems

Although both are effective purification methods, most consumers prefer the convenience and energy efficiency of reserve osmosis, especially for residential use. Three of our suggested systems are our RCC7AK, our RO500AK-BN, and our RCD100.

Reverse osmosis technology is a powerful tool in the world of purified water and is the most widely used method in industries and daily life and is the primary production method of the majority of bottled water. As noted by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), RO systems are able to remove up to 99% of impurities including bacteria and viruses as well as common chemical contaminants such as sodium, chloride, copper, chromium, and lead. They are also able to reduce arsenic, fluoride, radium, sulfate, calcium, magnesium, potassium, nitrate, and phosphorous.

While our mission at iSpring remains unwavering, to make clean drinking water accessible and affordable to all consumers, we know our customers have individual needs to reach this goal. Therefore, we offer a range of models that will achieve the same purified water but will meet different people’s needs.

One of our premier under-the-sink models is our RCC7AK. This filter

  1. uses a 6-Stage Alkaline Remineralization Layered Filtration, exclusively designed to restore the natural alkalinity and mineral balance of water.
  2. employs an ultra-fine RO filter to remove contaminants down to 0.0001 microns.
  3. is NSF/ANSI 58 certified.
  4. employs a second-stage GAC filter and a third-stage carbon block filter to effectively eliminate chlorine, unpleasant tastes, odors, cloudiness, and sediment.
  5. uses a pressurized tank to ensure a stable water flow.
  6. produces up to 75 gallons of filtered water per day.
  7. can be connected directly to the refrigerator’s water supply.

Our RO500AK-BN is our state-of-the-art tankless RO system that:

  1. employs a three-stage filtration system including a 2-in-1 composite PP Sediment and Carbon Block filter, an advanced RO Membrane, and a Carbon/Alkaline Filter that balances the pH level and enhances the taste with added-back minerals.
  2. produces up to 500 gallons of filtered water per day.
  3. fast water output, filling an 8 oz glass in 10 seconds.
  4. contributes to reduced water bills and less water going down the drain because of its industry-leading pure-to-waste ratio (up to 2:1), saving water waste by up to 400% compared to traditional RO systems.
  5. features a filter life reminder light as well as easy filter replacement.

Our RCD100 is a countertop RO system that requires no installation, making it the ideal portable water filtration solution for enjoying filtered water while on the go.

  1. uses a five-stage filtration system that includes a stainless-steel filter, a PP+CTO composite filter, an RO membrane, a post carbon filter, and an ultraviolet (UV) filter.
  2. has been tested by SGS.
  3. requires no installation and only needs a plug-in to operate.
  4. features a revolutionary instant heating function that quickly allows a customized experience by providing four temperature settings.
  5. boasts a large-capacity water tank that holds 1.3 gallons of water.
  6. employs an innovative wastewater circulation technique that enhances the filtration performance, achieving an impressive and unbeatable up to 2.5:1 pure-to-drain water ratio.
  7. is capable of producing up to 100 gallons of contaminant-free water per day.
  8. has convenience features such as a self-cleaning mode, a smart panel display, a twist-and-lock design for filter replacement, an energy-saving mode, a child safety lock, and a quiet operation.
